SCIENCE-INFORMED STORYTELLING

With an MSc in Tropical Marine Ecology and research experience focused on sharks in Fiji, Tom brings scientific understanding to every conservation assignment. His background helps him interpret complex subjects, work effectively alongside researchers and communicate environmental stories accurately without losing their human or emotional dimension.

His academic work includes several peer-reviewed scientific publications, while his visual assignments have taken him alongside researchers and conservation teams throughout Fiji and the wider Pacific.

SELECTED CONSERVATION FILMS

Alongside photography, Tom produces films that connect environmental change with the people, wildlife and places at the centre of each story. His work combines cinematography, interviews, aerial imagery and field-based reporting to make complex conservation issues accessible to wider audiences.

PROTECTING FIJI’S DRAWA FOREST

Produced for Nakau and WWF-Australia’s Climate Resilient by Nature programme, this film follows community members and forest rangers working to protect Drawa’s rainforest on Vanua Levu. It explores how community-led conservation and forest carbon finance are helping Indigenous Fijian landowners safeguard biodiversity, strengthen livelihoods and preserve the forest for future generations.

PEOPLE POWERING BIODIVERSITY IN POMIO

Filmed and directed for WWF-Pacific, this mini-documentary follows the People Powering Biodiversity project in Pomio, East New Britain. Through the voices of local communities, it explores how traditional knowledge and community-led conservation are helping to protect biodiversity and preserve Pomio’s natural heritage for future generations.

CONSERVATION STORYTELLING

Tom provides photography, cinematography, drone and underwater production for conservation organisations, research institutions and development partners across the Pacific. His work connects wildlife, science, community livelihoods and environmental change, creating coherent visual stories for campaigns, reports, exhibitions, digital platforms and public outreach.
